The 2019 Jeep Compass offers you the performance that you’ll need to overcome pretty much whatever’s in your way: harsh road conditions, tricky weather, extreme highway curves, and almost anything else.

It all starts with its standard 2.4L Tigershark® engine, which manages to kick out up to 180 horsepower and up to 175 lb-ft of torque. These numbers translate to a 2,000-pound towing capacity, while an efficiency-promoting MultiAir® 2 valve train system helps it get 23 city and 32 highway miles per gallon¹.

You can then filter all of this power and efficiency through its available Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System, which allows you to optimize your compact SUV’s performance for Snow, Sand, Mud, or Rock. Of course, there’s also an Auto mode for the type of driving that you’ll do on a daily basis.

All in all, you could say that the 2019 Compass was designed and engineered with the traction, water fording, maneuverability, articulation, and ground clearance capabilities that it needs to absolutely excel.

All in all, that makes for a total interior passenger volume of 126.7 cubic feet spread across two rows, which gives you a seating capacity of up to five passengers. And that’s not even mentioning its 27.2-cubic-foot or 59.8-cubic-foot cargo capacities; the space you have depends on whether you stow its back row.
