If you’re living in the mid-Michigan area, you have The Information Center where you’ll find all kinds of helpful local resources. In this local spotlight, you’ll get just a taste of what The Information Center has to offer our community. Read ahead to learn more!
What is The Information Center?
The Information Center was founded in 1975 as a resource for resources. They provide the community with information and referral so members of the community can find the help they need without a long, drawn out search.
For more than forty years, they’ve been dedicated to connecting those with services to offer to those who need services including senior citizen care, employee assistance, disability resources, emergency contacts, and more.
This nonprofit acts as the middleman to keep information as streamlined and accurate as possible by working directly with service providers. They’re constantly updating resources and even release a comprehensive Where to Turn Guide annually, so you have everything you need right in front of you.
The Many Resources They Offer
The Information Center has grown dramatically in the four plus decades that it’s been serving the community. Today, it operates with several dynamic departments to provide Michigan citizens with as many resources as possible.
One department, the Information and Referral department, works directly with callers to help them find the right resource for their needs. Simply call in to speak to a specialist and they’ll point you in the right direction.
Other departments—like Nursing Facility Transition, Adult Day Care, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Connections—specialize in human care. We all need a little help sometimes no matter what stage we’re at in life. Get the help you need with just a click or call to The Information Center.
Volunteer with The Information Center!
Another incredible service offered by The Information Center is connecting volunteers with local organizations that need them. On their Twitter, The Information Center regularly posts opportunities for you to get involved in your community. Be sure to connect with them on Facebook as well so you never miss an opportunity to give back!
