Diamond Jack’s River Tours
Opened in 1991 by captain Bill Hoey, Diamond Jack’s River Tours has a multitude of ways you can go sightseeing on the Detroit River. Take a tour on the 65-foot Diamond Jack, a former island ferry, to see the Detroit skyline and some of Windsor in Ontario, Canada.
Your tour guide will provide historical musings about both cities, and when the Great Lakes freighter comes along, the crew blows its whistle as the Diamond Jack moves past. Anyone is welcome to schedule a tour, including schools, camps, businesses, and private parties.
If you would like to have your next family reunion on the water, schedule your event and board one of three river boats. The Diamond Belle is the best option for large parties with a maximum capacity of up to 225 people.
Be sure to check out their Facebook page for more information, including hours and reviews.

They offer three tours around the Detroit area for all abilities. For beginner kayakers, the Bell Isle Blue Heron Lagoon tour is a relaxing paddle on the east end of Belle Isle. The longest tour will take you all the way around Belle Isle and takes approximately three hours to complete.
Riverside Kayak Connection also participates in environmental work at Belle Isle Park. Join them and Belle Isle Conservancy on the third Saturday of each month to keep Belle Isle clean!

River Raisin Marina and Campground
Located on the north side of the Port of Monroe Turning Basin, this campground and marina was originally purchased for its deep water access to launch larger sailboats. Specifically, two avid sailors, John and Veronica, wanted the land to launch their 50-foot sailboat. After accruing around 100,000 miles of sailing experience, they thought that the location would be great for small and large sailboats.
There’s plenty of space to camp at River Raisin and even more acreage for canoeing and cycling. Hop in your paddle boat and float over to an adjacent Wilderness Park with Lotus Ponds. The recently dedicated River Raisin Heritage Trail is a good place for outdoor enthusiasts to witness a plethora of wildlife, including foxes, beavers, muskrats, and turtles.
